Send gift cards to recipients abroad

Recipients in Norway and Sweden receive a Glede Mastercard. Recipients in other supported countries choose from branded gift cards in their own currency.

Updated 17 August 2026

Yes, you can send to recipients in more countries than Norway. What the recipient receives is determined by the recipient's country — not by anything you choose in the sending flow.

Two types of gift cards

  • Norway and Sweden — the recipient receives a Glede Mastercard, the prepaid card that can be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and used wherever Mastercard is accepted.
  • Other supported countries — the recipient receives a multi-choice gift card and chooses a gift card from one of our brand partners, in the country's own currency.

You can find the updated overview of countries and brands on the Multichoice Gift Card. The list is regularly expanded, so check it there instead of relying on a list in an email.

Your company must be registered in Norway or Sweden to send. This applies to the sending company — the recipients can be in any of the countries we support.

How to send to multiple countries in the same order

  1. Enter all recipients

Individually or via Excel upload. You do not need to separate the recipients by country — they can be in the same order.

  2. Select the correct country code on the phone number

The country code determines which gift card the recipient receives. Use +47 for Norwegian numbers, +46 for Swedish, and so on. The wrong country code is the most common reason a recipient gets the wrong card type or does not receive the gift.

  3. Check the message about card type

If you enter a number from a country without Glede Mastercard, you will be informed in the sending flow about how many branded gift cards the recipient can choose from. If the country is not supported, we notify you immediately.

  4. Send and pay as usual

One order and one invoice, no matter how many countries the recipients are spread across.

What the recipient experiences

All recipients receive the same greeting and the same amount. The difference is what happens when they open the gift: in Norway and Sweden they activate a card, in other countries they choose a brand from the catalogue. The amount is shown in the recipient's own currency.

The country is not on the list

Then we cannot deliver a gift there yet. Contact us and say which country it concerns — we expand regularly, and we will let you know if the country is on its way.

The recipient has a foreign phone number

It's fine, as long as the number belongs to a country we support. Remember to choose the correct country code in the dropdown list. However, if the recipient has already received a gift on the wrong number, see Change the phone number on the gift card.
