Change the phone number on the gift card
The gift card is linked to one telephone number. This is how you change it — and how the sender does it if the gift went to the wrong number.
Updated 17 August 2026
The gift card is linked to the phone number it was sent to. It is the number you log in with in the Glede app.
You have received the gift card, but with the wrong number
If you have received the gift link on a number you no longer use, the sender must change the number. For security reasons, we cannot move a gift card to another number without the sender's request — otherwise anyone could take over a gift.
If you still have access to the email address the gift was sent to, you can open the gift link from there even if the SMS was sent to an old number.
You are the sender and sent to the wrong number
Open the order overview
Log in to send.glede.app and go to the order the gift is in.
Find the recipient
Click the recipient with the wrong number.
Change the phone number
Enter the correct number and save. The gift link will be sent again to the new number.
If the gift card has already been activated by someone on the old number, it cannot be moved. Contact us with the order ID as soon as possible.
You have received a new phone
If you have the same number, you simply download the Glede app on the new phone and log in with the phone number. The card and the balance are there. You must add the card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet again, since the wallet is linked to the individual phone.
You have a foreign telephone number
The Glede app supports foreign phone numbers. Remember to select the correct country code in the drop-down list before entering the number — if you don't get the one-time code, the wrong country code is the most common reason.
If you still cannot log in, contact us and enter the number with country code.
